Privacy Policy
PIMO is a small, independently operated language-learning app. This page explains, plainly and specifically, what data it collects about you, why, and what your rights are. It reflects what the product actually does, not a generic template.
Who is responsible for your data
PIMO is operated by a single developer / small team, not a company with a dedicated privacy office. All data described below is stored on a server we control, hosted in the EU. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect
We collect personal data in these categories:
- Account data: email address, and a password (stored as a one-way hash) or a Google account identifier if you use Google sign-in. Used to create and secure your account, let you log in, and send transactional email related to the account. We do not send marketing email.
- Learning data: the preferences and study history needed to run the learning product for you. Used only to provide and improve your personal learning experience. Not sold or used for advertising.
- Legal acceptance: record that you accepted our Privacy Policy and Terms, and when.
- Security data: information such as IP address, used briefly to prevent abuse. Not kept as part of your account profile.
- Support messages: if you contact us through the contact form or send feedback through the product, we keep the message and enough context to respond.
We do not collect your name or postal address for normal use, and we do not use advertising trackers across other websites.
Payments
The site or app may show prices and discounts. Showing a price does not mean we charge you. When paid checkout is available, card payments are handled by a payment provider. We do not store full card numbers. Until checkout is live, no payment data is collected.
Access
Access to the app may be limited by our current access rules. That controls whether you can use the product; it does not change the categories of personal data listed above.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the product. They only receive what is needed for their role:
- Google: if you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your email and account identifier with us. We never see your Google password.
- Cloudflare: when bot checks are enabled, Cloudflare helps confirm signups and contact form submissions are not automated; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Sentry: when error monitoring is enabled, technical diagnostics may be sent to help us fix bugs. Not used for advertising.
- Payment provider: when you pay, the provider processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy.
Cookies
We use a session cookie so you stay logged in. It is necessary for logged-in features and is not used for tracking or advertising. We do not use advertising cookies or similar tracking for ads.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from the live system. Disaster recovery backups are kept for a limited time and then expire. We do not restore an individual deleted account from a backup.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, the UK, or anywhere with similar data protection law, you have the right to access, export, and delete your personal data. In the app you can export or delete your account from app.pimo.nu/account.
For a privacy question that export / delete does not cover, use the Contact page.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it changes in a material way, we will update this page and publish a new version number. Small clarifications (for example typos or standing up a contact channel already named here) do not require a new version.
